Jnrs Report: As Attached
1. Jnrs had approx 70 nippers all season and held steady throughout the season.
2. The Williams family have asked if they could borrow some chairs or the club
house depending on the weather to hold a wedding at the beach on the cliftops,
for the 25 September2010.
General Business:
1. Wally has suggested that we concrete down the side of the new shed so that
when the IRB and other equipment is washed after patrol it doesn’t get
muddy. Wally will look into getting this concreting done during the off season.
2. Lawrie moved a motion that Al Riddoch transfers $3000.00 to his personal
account to make it easier to pay Surf Club Accounts, further increments are
not to exceed $3000.00 at any one time, anything over that amount must be brought
to the executive.
3. Phil Seconded Passed.
4. The Surf Carnival held on 28 March went well even though we didn’t
have many competitors, it was a beautiful day.
5. The business House Boat Race Day has been cancelled until next season.

Business Arising:
1. All reports are to be handed into Lawrie by 5 May instead of 15 May.
2. Presentation Night will now be held on the 5 June and not 12 June at Anchors
Wharf
3. The club would like to thank Annie for all her hard work of chasing up information
for our members that have awards and up dating the information on Surfguard
4. Contact Kerry Clancy at Branch for their presentation so we can book at Anchors
Wharf.
Correspondence In:
1. We received a cheque for $7454.55 for the Rhino
2. We also received an Internet Bill for $21.80
3. We received a letter from Peter Allison asking if we would write a letter
of statement saying that when he transferred from our club that he had no penalty
patrols owing.
General Business:
1. Put secured doors on the first section of the trophy section and Lawrie was
going to approach Al Thomas about putting a pull down projector screen over
the rest so that the projector can be hooked up for use for educational purposes.
2. Phil would like us to purchase some Teaching Manuals
3. 2 May 2010 has been the suggested date for the Sponsors Breakfast and Boat
Rowing day.
4. A BBQ & Drinks conference with all patrolling members to be held at a
date to be advised.

◊ Have purchased the new 30 HP motor after a positive report came back
from the Coffs carnival.
◊ Invitation to the opening of the new Mini Waters/Wooli Surf Club –
Going to let know that we are not attending
◊ Received a program for the North Coast Seniors Branch Championships:
Snrs 7/2 & Jnrs 14/2
◊ Greg McPhee was asking if we were going to Dorrigo to help out with
a display for Australia Day running the display in conjunction with North Beach
– Thinking of using the Promotional Trailer
◊ Thanks to Al Riddoch for all his work he has done for us on getting
our grants organised and through.

Junior’s Report:
◊ NSW Country Championships at South West Rocks Urunga came in top twenty
(20) we also got two (2) medals one (1) for water and one (1) for beach
◊ Nippers restart this weekend 24 January 2010
◊ Education side of things have finished.
Old Boys:

Uniforms:
◊ Ordered new shirts and are back cost will be $35 per shirt Contact Gary
or Chantal
◊ Boaties have asked for more new rashies
General Business:
◊ Freezer in corner of office needs to be turned off and cleaned out as
there were ice cups spilt
◊ AGM will be held Thursday night 12 August at 7pm at Surf Club
◊ All reports are still to be into Lawrie by 15 May
◊ Presentation will be held at Anchors Wharf on 12 June – 6pm for
6.30pm start
◊ Awards will be decided by Lawrie, Phil & Annie. Al will pick all
awards up.
◊ Radios are all working well and everyone is happy with them. Payment
of invoice was approved
◊ The approval has been given to buy a Training Heart Starter.
◊ The approval of buying weatherproof jackets for patrolling members,
Phil to get sizes
◊ Proficiencies are not being updated on Surfguard properly for our club
to function to its full capacity, Phil and Annie to look into the matter further.
◊ The club sent flowers and a sympathy card to the Dingle family for the
death of Simon up to the value of $100.
◊ Branch is holding their presentation night at Anchors wharf date and
price to be notified at a later date
◊ Phil to approach Evan Beeby about being IRB Captain
Seniors Master Carnival 7/2:
◊ Approx 20 officials to be catered for and branch will give a cheque
at $7 a head for officials
◊ Branch will lend us a driver and an IRB for both carnivals.
Juniors Branch Championships 14/2:
◊ Approx 50 officials , Start for helpers 6.30am – 7.00am Carnival
start 8.30am – 9.00am
◊ Coffs are lending us the BBQ Trailer
◊ Butchers: Sausages, Steak, Bacon & Eggs
◊ Bakery at Bello suppling 40 loaves bread and 50 Bread Rolls
◊ Coke is supplying 6 cartons water
◊ Fullers are suppling the Fruit and Vegies
◊ There will also be Bananas and Apples, Lollies
◊ Organised Cappuccino Man, Sno Cone Van
◊ Branch is suppling the PA System

◊ Phil move that we purchase a suitable 30hp motor for the IRB on the
proviso that a positive report is received from trials at Coffs Craft Carnival

Next year we will be starting a new on-line registration process. You will be
able to fill out forms and pay on-line. This will make the process more workable
for everyone.
Junior:
◊ Carnival held last Sunday went well with Urunga finishing 4th, we had
the right ratio of officials and this was the first of the branch selections.
◊ The juniors have a total of 65 members
◊ Branch Championships will be on 14 February 2010
◊ Gary Howe moves a motion that the Juniors go halves with the Seniors
in purchasing a full set of swim cans seconded Phil passed
Old Boys: Wally moved that we buy six (6) new radio pouches Seconded Gary
Rookie: The rookies have had new towels bought for them and are in getting embroidered.
To be able to keep these young ones in the club we need to keep them occupied
with a little more learning in a fun way.

◊ The amendment of the Club Captain's report be amended, The motion moved
should have read that we purchase the rhino up to $22,000.00. I do apologise
for the misunderstanding it caused.
◊ Nick's recission notice was read and a vote was taken and the recission
notice was defeated.

Lawrie sent a letter to John Restuccia, Kerry Clancy and Jane Morrison regarding
a work method statement for the Bar.

Chief Instructor:
◊ Looking at starting a Bronze class at end of December
◊ There will only be 2 Proficiency dates for this Season.
◊ We need new Pads for the Defib.

◊ A new emergency list has been done for branch.

General Business:
◊ Terry moved a motion that we organise to concrete Harry Martin’s
boat ramp to the value of $500 Seconded Shelley.
◊ The club would also like to thank Shelley very much for such a great
job she is doing with the weekly news reports in the local papers.
◊ It has been noted that Nick is doing Special Patrols
◊ The club has set aside $45,000 to purchase a Mini Bus Moved Phil Seconded
Terry.
◊ The Urunga Surf Club will support the Australia Day Ceremony being held
in Dorrigo.

Looking at getting an all Terrain Rhino cost approx $18,000 to $20,000
Phil moved a motion that we purchase the Rhino with modifications up to the
value of $22,000 anymore and it comes back to a meeting for further discussion

We have lost a lot of people and that means that we are going to struggle with

◊ Double Ski – Mald has been set – getting things to replace
but no refund. Have received $4,000 from OVH
◊ IRB Course: suggested that training start in the river but then explained
that the training would take place out past the breakers
◊ Contact the Council about our concerns that we have about the Boardwalk
extending to the beach and how much more work its going to create for us at
the river mouth when it’s finished
◊ Registration Mail outs are going out thanks to Jenni
◊ Bellingen Council are advertising for lifeguards
◊ Lady rowers have requested for lady sized flippers and Red & Yellow
rashies
