◊ Fees that parents are paying, is a little unfair.
◊ Vanessa moved a motion that Jnr Parent affiliation fee to be $20 with a review for next season, with a provision that membership is restricted to no keys, no voting rights.

IRB Report:

◊ Registrations and Proficiencies this Saturday at Bellingen Pool
◊ The boards that were ordered have been delivered as well as everything else that was ordered.
◊ Nippers start on Sunday 12 October 2008

First Aid Report:
◊ The Club has had its first inspection for the season and the first aid room and equipment passed with flying colours.
◊ All equipment required is up to date
◊ The Oxy Viva has been returned to us from Branch.
Boat:
◊ NCB Series starts 11 & 12 October 2008. We still have 3 crews.
General Business:
◊ Website: any feed back on the website would be very grateful.
◊ Registration for the Jnr trailer has been done.
◊ Bronze class starts 21 October 2008 will run for about 6-7 weeks finish late November
◊ Still chasing Jamie Marschke to find someone to do our proficiencies for ARC

General Business:
• Friday night 29 August is the last night for raffles at the golf club, but the old boys are going to look into doing something
• Nick has moved that we buy some more Boogie Boards, fins, and tubes as a stock update.
• Seconded by Tony.
• Nick to get rid of the old floats.
• We are looking at how we can encourage parents to join our club when they join there children up so that when they offer their help at any of our functions they are covered by our insurance.
• We will be holding a Registration day on Saturday 13 September between 9am – 11am outside the Real Estate.

Meeting Minutes 24 July 2008

Minutes of Previous meeting: No business arising
Correspondence in:
• Invitation from Branch for the North Coast Excellence Awards dinner, attending are
• J. Sparkes, J & V. Ford.
• Meals and expenses paid for by the club $120
• Numerous accounts came in and handed to the treasurer.
Correspondence out:
• Al Riddoch emailed Peter Wilson at the council about the shed and insurance break-in
• Sent letter to Jardine Lloyd Thompson Insurance
• Jenny has done an emailing list and she has suggested that Life Saving Agreements be sent out to Club Captains.
• Booking sheets for courses.
Treasurer’s Report: As attached
• Al has moved that he tidy up the Accounts and as they mature integrate them into the investment Account.

Jnr Report:
• Have found an extra $5,000 in sponsorship and using it to buy new Boards
• Rearranged junior room
Chief Training Officer:
• There have been changes made to the Silver Medallion Award
• Nick and Mark have already been awarded this medallion and Garry and Jason have done the award.
• Jenny is going to contact people for Patrol Captains and update for RPL.
• 4 people have done their defib course
• 9 people to do their spinal management course on 10th August

• Letter to John Weaver of Country Energy, Port Macquarie thanking him for the support he gave us and let him know that we would like to do it again next year.

IRB Report:
• Have registered one IRB as the other one has gone flat at the front
• Looking into purchasing a new trailer
Club Coaching:
• Mark organising two carnivals one on 25 October being Juniors/Open and the other on 8th November being Masters Carnival
• We have two people take out Branch competitor awards they are:
o Tim Rodgers for Senior Masters Male Competitor and
o Emma Sutton for Senior Masters Female Competitor
• Would like one new double ski and one new single ski – looking into getting sponsorship to help with the costs
• Newcastle Permanent Coffs Harbour will be giving each club in the branch a new foam rescue board on Saturday 2nd August, Mark Sutton will approach the Junior Captain Jack Chaffey to see if he will attend with Mark and accept this board on behalf of the Urunga Surf Club.
• A suggestion was made to write a letter to the new manager of the Ocean View Hotel asking for sponsorship and extend the letter to Coffs Hotel’s Manager Marty Phillips but will speak to Lockhardt first.
Uniforms:
• Due to restricted space all the surf club uniforms will be stored at the surf club upstairs in the old tower room
• There are plenty of Anniversary shirts left and will look at reducing the price and using some for prizes. Emma will do a stocktake of sizes and numbers.
• Organised more costumes
• Mark Davidson has offered to do the screen printing on the Uniforms

• We are looking at doing a mail out of registration forms
o Fee Structure is as follows:
o Senior Fees $30.00
o Social Members $60.00
o Junior Fees $50.00

o Family Fees $160.00
All membership fees are due by 30 September.
Next meeting will be held at the Urunga Surf Club on 28th August at 7.00pm
