We had our “Family Fun day and Registration Day” by the river last Sunday, despite the cold conditions, there was still a good roll up. We welcomed some new faces (which was terrific to see) as well as the old faces, it was great way of catching up again. There was fun had by all, the kids had an eggcellent time with the egg throwing competition and the donut eating comp, but I think the highlight was when a certain “loud” man was dressed up by his wife only to have the kids throw twisties at him! A big thank you to all who turned up and helped make the day a good one. Some registrations were taken on the day and can be mailed together with payment to PO Box 12, Urunga.

URUNGA SURF CLUB PRESENTATION

LIFE MEMBERSHIP TO GRAEME GRIFFITHS
Urunga Surf Life Saving Club had their Annual Presentation Night at Anchors Wharf Cafe on Saturday, 13th June. The Cafe looked very patriotic as it was decorated in our Club colours of blue & gold. A terrific night was had by all as we enjoyed delicious food and camaraderie, whilst taking in the numerous awards being handed out to deserving members.

Firstly, Congratulations goes to Graeme Griffiths on becoming a Life Member of Urunga SLSC. Graeme has been an Active Patrolling Member and always willing to give a hand when needed for fundraising events.
Graeme has been an active patrol member for 20 years and in that time has undertaken numerous tasks within the Surf Club movement. Graeme devoted many years to the Junior committee as his two boys progressed through the Nippers to the Seniors. Graeme has assisted the Senior Committee on many occasions through his hard work and willingness to get in and have a go.
Urunga SLSC recognises Graeme’s efforts during his history of involvement in the Surf Club and has awarded Graeme accordingly. Life Membership Status does not come by easily, Graeme has now become the 13th Life Member of Urunga Surf Life Saving Club since the Club started some 61 years ago.
