Have fun at Nippers
Our focus is on developing our Nippers/Junior Lifesavers so that one day they will become our future lifesavers.
Each year we have fun activities planned throughout the season, as well as carnivals for those who enjoy the thrill of competition!
We look forward to sunny weather, great waves, friendship, sportsmanship and most importantly "FUN".
Dates for 2021/2022 Season
We will be holding our swim proficiencies for U8-U14 Nippers at the Bellingen Pool on Sunday 31st October between 9-11am. EVERY nipper in these age groups must attend as a prerequisite to starting nippers on the beach. Please note that Bellingen Pool will only allow entry to those that are double vaccinated (16 years and older) and that you may be asked to provide proof of vaccination at the gate. (If you or a carer for your child is not double vaccinated, get in touch with us and we can collect your child at the gate.)
Starting Date On The Beach:
We can now confirm that the Nippers season at Urunga SLSC will begin on Sunday 5th December.
Come along before 8.45am for a 9am start.
All new nippers will need to bring along a copy of their birth certificate or email a copy to firstname.lastname@example.org
See our Calendar for the 2021-2022 season.
Due to COVID-19, we know that Nippers will most likely again look different this season.
The advice this season is to turn up, participate and leave. We are asking all parents to comply with this directive from NSW Sport, avoiding spending additional time at the beach or clubhouse outside of Nippers.
This season, only qualified members will be able to support the delivery of Nippers. Trained Age Managers and Water Safety team members will help us ensure that nippers are kept safe both in the water and on the beach.
We are asking all parents to support us to meet Government requirements and stay COVID-19 safe by:
• Registering and paying online
• Staying at home if you or your child have any COVID-19 symptoms or are unwell
• Ensuring that you sign in via our QR code when attending Nippers to assist with contact tracing
• Maintaining physical distancing while spectating, both in and around the clubhouse and on the beach
• Bringing your own sunscreen, water bottles and towels to avoid sharing
• Where possible, showering and getting dressed at home
Please also consider downloading the Federal Government’s COVIDsafe App. The app speeds up contacting people exposed to COVID-19, helping to support and protect you, your friends and family.
We are commited to keeping all members of the club safe, and we thank you for your support and understanding in these changing times. As Government restrictions change prior to season start, we will endeavour to update you on information as it becomes available.
